Member Forum
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Member Forum is a communication and advisory body of HGPF established by the Trustees. The representatives serving on the Member Forum are democratically selected by the members from each Employer who participates in the HGPF for its employees. Currently the HGPF has 843 Participating Employers nationally and a Member Forum representative has been selected by the members from each of these workplaces to represent the members at the Member Forums. Member Forum meetings are held twice a year in and around March and October (scheduled dates are advised in advance) and are currently held at the following venues;

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to communication and advisory responsibilities, a Member Forum representative is also required in terms of the Rules of HGPF to carry out other specific duties and responsibilities such as assisting members with queries at the workplace, where possible, assisting the HGPF in tracing dependants on the death of a member.
Most importantly; -

To assist the HGPF administrators with forward information in cases where contributions fall into arrears (credit control).

To keep the Officers of the HGPF informed of members needs and common complaints.

To collect Benefit Statements at the forum for their workplace for distribution to the members.

To nominate member Trustees for the Board of Trustee.
FORUM AGENDA
The Agenda for the Forum covers all the Fund information such as investments, administration and financial reports, new developments/new innovations, important changes in the law and in the HGPF, training and other general matters. The Agenda will always be proposed and adopted at each forum.
RECORD/MINUTES
There will be no minutes taken due to the number and extent of the forums, but records of the important recommendations will be kept and read out at the next following forum
